Rite in the Rain Field Books
In another blog, during another time, I raved about the Rite in the Rain memo/field books, particularly the 5” x 3 1/2” Field-Flex Tactical Memo Book:

It has sturdy paper with enough sheets in a durable binding that bends in your pocket. The problem with Moleskins is that they don’t bend well in your back pocket; the problem with Field Notes is that there aren’t enough pages, and they’re expensive for what you get. (Field Notes are like $10 for 3, with 48 pages each.)
The problem with Rite in the Rain is one of their features: the pages are waterproof and also make your writing waterproof. But you can only write on them with ball-point ink pens; and even then it’s a bit hard to get clear writing.
In the end, I’m thinking I’ll go back to my Field Notes for pocket writing. Although I feel they’re stingy in the number of pages, I suppose in the end, I don’t use *all* that much.
