Pet Peeve: Blind Linking
I hate it when blogs make links to other posts but don’t explain what the next link is about or why it’s important.
For example, here’s a post that mentions the hazards of alcohol-based hand sanitizers. But this link doesn’t even mention what those actual hazards are, but it makes a few links to other sites. OK, so they link to themselves, to a previous post about an NBC Today Show video segment. But, again, they don’t say what the hazards actually are. So now I have to click on the link, go to the video, and watch the whole thing. F’n waste of my time.
In the end, the hazards of alcohol-based hand sanitizers have nothing to do with the actual use of those sanitizers—it has to do with people who drink them. So, you can get poisoned if you chug your hand sanitizer.
